Monday, September 21

Heather and I packed up and headed to a motel that our guide said offered rides back to the trail for a fee. As we were walking there, a guy stopped us to ask how the trail is going. We talked to him for a bit and he ended up offering us a ride back to the trail himself! He owned the liquor store in town and his daughter had hiked the AT a few years ago. He was very nice.

He dropped us off at the pass. At the same time Crosby was also being dropped off! We haven't seen him since a day or two out of Butte! Crazy!

We hiked with him the rest of the day. Around 5pm we came across a cabin that is open to the public. It had 3 cots and a wood burning stove inside. We could have kept hiking, but we really couldn't pass up a cabin like this. So we stopped early. We enjoyed the short day and the amenities of the cabin for the night.
