Wow today was hot. High 90s for sure. And a good amount of it wasn't in tree cover. I was dying! Good thing there is so much water so I can at least cool off a little.

We spent most of the day along the Chinese Wall. It is a huge cliff that snakes along a ridge. It is pretty impressive. It is the highlight of this area.

The trail has been mostly dried mud, so we see a lot of footprints of people, horse, elk, deer, bear, etc. Today was there first time we saw from mountain lion tracks. They were huge!

Other than that I can only explain how hot it was. Just terrible. On one of the short but steep passes, heather and I found a big patch of snow and immediately dove face first right into it. We laid down on it and it was such a relief from the heat. I didn't want to get up.

We found a really nice campsite for the night near another cold creek. We soaked in it to cool down.

We heard that there is rain in the forecast the next few days. Probably afternoon thunderstorms. They will be a welcome relief from the heat.
