22 miles.

We woke up early because we knew we would have a long day. Our permit had is going 11.5 miles today and 10.5 tomorrow. We decided we just wanted to combine them instead of taking 2 very short days. We are also starting to get our hiking legs. So we wanted to put them to the test today.

Immediately from the lake, the trail went straight up 2500ft to Pitamaken pass. We encountered a good amount of snow in spots.

After the pass, it was all downhill to Two Medicine. We ended up getting down there around 10:30am which ended up being 11 miles. So we made good time.

In Two Medicine we ate calzones at the store. Then soaked our feet in the lake.

From Two Medicine, we had another 2500ft pass before we descended into Many Glacier. It was a tough one. Especially after the pass in the morning.

At the top we saw a heard of about a dozen big horn sheep. They were really close and we got a little nervous with the big males.

About 5 miles from town we left Glacier National Park. The trail after was in poor shape. Lots of blowdowns (downed trees), very muddy, nasty. Our maps have notes on them, and it says "Welcome to the real CDT southbounders." So we have been spoiled by Glacier trails apparently.

We got to town and got rooms. Got a nice shower, did laundry and had some really good BBQ. It was excellent.

We have a long long 11ish day stretch coming up. There is one ranch in the middle where we will resupply. But we should get to our next town on July 4.
