Yesterday was our longest, but today was really really hard.

We guessed that we climbed over 7000ft today in 23 miles.

Our camp was down in a valley next to a river, but the trail climbed from camp to get to the continental divide. For the majority of the hike so far, we have been near the divide, but most of today was directly on it. And since the divide is along a ridge, we didn't have a single section of flat trail.

Walking on the divide is awesome. The views are amazing because it is usually one of the highest points around. We've been in a "green tunnel" a lot recently by just being in the trees.

The climbs today were not only long, but also very steep. I never saw anything this steep on the PCT. In fact, I'm not sure I've seen any trails this long and steep before in my life.

It was a long day. We started around 7am and didn't get into camp until around 8pm.

Looking at the elevation profile, this should be our hardest day for a while. I hope.

  1. Who took this photo? Or did you buy a drone at the last stop?
