We woke up and had to walk 2 miles to the main post office in town to pick up our resupply boxes.

We then went to a breakfast place to eat. An old couple asked us where we were hiking and we explained what we were doing.

I had an awesome plate of chorizo, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. When we asked for our check, our server said our check had been taken care of. It turns out the old couple really liked what we were doing and had paid for our meal! Unfortunately, they had already left and we weren't able to thank them. Again, it is amazing how nice people can be to random strangers.

We went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. Then we made a sign that said "CDT hikers to MacDonald pass" and sat outside the grocery store in the display lawn furniture waiting for someone to pick us up. After about 45 minutes, we gave up and called the taxi company to take us to the trail. It cost about $50 but we justified it since we had our breakfast paid for...

The hiking was pretty easy. The temperature is much lower this week and there weren't any crazy climbs. We caught up to a few other hikers. We are camping with HikerBox and Heartbreaker tonight. They are another couple on trail. We passed a different couple early today as well.

I think we have settled on a trail name for Heather. Every time we go into town, she is the first to research the best breakfast place and always orders a short stack of pancakes. So we have started calling her "Short Stack".
