Monday, July 20

We woke up and headed to breakfast at the diner. They had some of the best Bacon I've ever had. It was pretty amazing. Wish I could have packed a whole bunch of it out on trail with me.

We went to the post office and picked up our packages. In the RV park lawn we organized our food. This last stretch we all were down to about 1 or 2 snacks left as we got to Darby. So everyone has compensated by over packing. My pack is the heaviest it has ever been. I bought a good amount of extra food.

My mom is packing my food boxes and shipping them to each town. She uses my resupply schedule to determine how many days of food to put in each box. This includes dinners, snacks, lunches, sunscreen, etc. After I pick up my box in town I usually to go the grocery store to grab a few fresh items like cheese or avocados, and any other extra food items I may want.

I'm pretty lucky to have the luxury of my mom packing my boxes as I go. I'm able to call and tell her which stuff I'm getting sick of and what I want more of. I'll usually ask her to increase the amount of Snickers bars every time. Thanks mom!

We hitched back to the trail around 1pm and it was a pretty brutal 14 miles with all the weight. Lots of really steep long climbs.

I'm tried to eat the heaviest dinner I had to take some weight off my pack.
