A quick 8 miles and we made it down into the valley where all the major thermal pools are in Yellowstone.
It was pretty amazing. We had about 3 miles of geysers and pools until we reached old faithful village. We stopped and watched a few geysers go off along the way. The riverside geyser was a good one. It shot off over the river at an angle. It goes off every 6-7 hours I think so we were lucky to be in the right spot.
We thought there were a lot of tourists until we reached old faithful village. That place is insane!!! Soo many people. Literally thousands.
We went to the grill to eat and stood in line for about 30 minutes. It was crazy.
We got our resupply boxes from the post office. We then went to see Old Faithful erupt. It was cool, but I think the riverside geyser was cooler. The amount of people watching Old Faithful was crazy.
We still had a good time in the village. People watching is fun. We ate a ton of food.
We only had 3 miles to walk to camp. So we spent a good 6-7 hours at Old Faithful village.
