Wednesday, August 19

I stoked the fire in our wood stove to heat up the cabin in the morning. The outside temp was in the 30s so it was getting cold in the cabin.

We went to the lodge for breakfast. Once again we were blown away by how good it was. We had enchiladas, potatoes, fruit salad, banana bread, blueberry bread, coffee, and cheese grits. All delicious.

As we finished up breakfast the owner came around with brown paper sack lunches. In each bag was a ham sandwich, orange, granola bar, and animal crackers.

We packed up our stuff in the cabin. We didn't want to leave Big Sandy. It was a fun stop. We ate our lunch around noon and then got back on trail.

The trail was pretty mellow today and we did about 15 miles. We saw 2 huge elk. A lot of the trail was in Aspen trees. Which we haven't seen a lot of yet. You can tell we are changing landscapes again.
