Thursday, August 13

We went to breakfast and then packed up to go back to the trail.

It was hot on trail which was a nice welcome back after the last week of cold rainy weather.

There were a ton of alternate trails today. The route goes through a big snowmobile/ATV area so there are roads and trails everywhere. Andy and I made up our own route because we thought it would be better than any of the suggested alternates.

For the most part our route was good, until one old logging road started to get very overgrown and then ended. So we had to do some bushwhacking to get where we wanted. It was fun......well at least Andy and I enjoy that sort of stuff. The girls are less enthusiastic about it but they don't complain.

Near the end of the day we were in an open area and we spotted a black bear less than half a mile away. It seemed to have seen us so it was running away into the trees.

We are at a camping area in the ATV park, it has bear boxes to store our food. Which is good because we all have so much food at the moment that it would be difficult to hang.
