We had a good zero day today. We did the normal zero day stuff. We ate, watched movies in the motel room, etc.
There was a small outdoor BBQ place in town that was run by an older couple. They have only been open 4 weeks but seem to be doing well. They were out of their brisket and ribs but I had the best shredded beef BBQ sandwich I've ever had.
Dubois had probably been the best town we have gone too. The restaurants have all been super good and the people were all incredibly nice. We stayed at the Black Bear Motel and the owner and her 2 kids were super nice. The motel was on the river and they had a campfire with free smores every night for guests. We talked for a while with one of the owners kids and he agreed to drive us back up to the trail tomorrow. That is good because we heard the sheriff in town doesn't like hitchhikers. Our guidebook warns us of trying to hitch inside the city limits.
