We went over a pass in the morning and into what we thought was the wilderness area. As we went over another climb we had a view of a valley below. It was full of cabins!
Turns out there was a major trailhead there and a campground. There were a lot of people. It really wasn't what we expected for this area. We heard it was very remote and hard to get to. I guess not.
It was an amazing area though. We went by a couple huge lakes. We even went into one of them. They are Glacier fed so they were silty and our feet sank in the mud as we walked in. The trail followed the lakes and river for most of the day.
We found some wild raspberries that were ripe. They were very good.
