14 miles
The guys I have started hiking with are Samwise, Sweet As, and Fallrisk.
Most of today was spent in the town of Wrightwood. We hiked the first 13 miles to hwy 2 by 11am.
Once at the highway, Fallrisk's girlfriend met us and had brought some food and beer.
She drove us to town where Samwise, Sweet As and I went to a burger place while Fallrisk and his lady went and checked in to a bad and breakfast. Fallrisk is going to take a zero day tomorrow and the 3 of us are going to hike on and take a zero in 4 days when we reach Agua Dulce.
We ate our burgers, went to the library, went to the grocery store, ate some pizza, then headed back to the trail. There was a list of trail angels at the hardware store that would give rides. We called a few and finally reached one that would take us back to the trail.
Whenever she arrived, 85 year old Delores got out of the car to open the trunk for our packs. She was a super nice lady, but her driving skills made us all very nervous for the 5 miles on curvy mountain roads. On top of that the sun was low and directly in her face. She had to put one had up in the air to block the sun and the other on the wheel.
Only a few swerves and close calls later we made it back to the trail.
We hiked another mile to a picnic area where we are camping now.
