14 miles

Minor got to Mazama village this morning. We went to breakfast and had the usual...eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and milkshakes.

Minor divided up his resupply. I took a shower and we all did laundry.

We eventually left around noon. There was a 5 mile hike up to the crater rim.
When we got up there, we were blown away. Crater lake is very impressive. It is bigger than I expected and the water is amazingly blue.

We hung out on the trail overlooking the lake for a while and made a few calls while we had good service.

From there the trail follows the rim for another 6 miles and we were treated with more views of the lake.

We ended up stopping in a few good lookout spots along the way. We definitely took our time.

From the rim it was another 3 miles down to a water cache where we planned on camping. It is a bit chilly. I don't think I've felt cold in a while. It has just been too hot.
