~33 miles

The morning went by pretty quick today. We left Crater Lake National Park.

We passed Mt. Thielsen. We were very tempted to take a side trip and climb it. But we both only had enough food for the next 2 days because for some reason our hiker hunger has kicked in even more. I feel like I can eat my entire food supply for the next 2 days in one sitting.

We passed the Oregon/Washington high point today. We won't go over 7500ft for the rest of the trail.

Around mile 1872 we came to a trail closure. There had been a fire near here very recently. It has been extinguished, but the trail is still closed. We have heard that some hikers are just going through on the PCT anyway, but we didn't want to risk a ticket so we took the detour.

We hiked about 7 miles down a side trail and set up camp.
